Change your sign-in email

How to move your account to a new email address. The change is secured by verifying both the old and the new address.

You can change the email you use to sign in to Bonito Hub at any time. The change is verified at both the old and the new address, so neither can be done without access to the other.

Why we make you verify both

The sign-in email is the most important credential on your account — it's how we know you're you. Verifying the old address proves you're the current account owner, and verifying the new one proves you actually control the destination. Without both steps, a malicious actor with temporary access to your inbox could redirect your account elsewhere.

How to change it

  1. Click Change email address. We send a confirmation link to your current email.

  2. Open that email and click the link. You'll land on a page that asks for your new email address.

  3. Enter the new email and submit. We send a verification link to the new address.

  4. Open the new inbox and click the link. Your email is now changed.

Each verification link is valid for 1 hour. If a link expires, just restart from step 1.

What changes immediately after step 5

  • Your sign-in email is updated. From now on, you sign in with the new address.

  • You're signed out of every device. This is intentional — it prevents an attacker who happens to have an open session from continuing to use it under your old identity.

  • We send a confirmation email to the new address and a security alert to the old address, so both inboxes know the change happened.

  • If your newsletter subscription was on the old address, it's moved to the new one automatically.

  • If the new address was previously a verified additional email on your account, it's promoted to primary and removed from your additional emails list.

After the change

Sign in with your new email — the magic-link flow is the same as before. You'll need to re-open Bonito Hub on each device you use.
