Claim an existing organization

If your organization already has a profile on Bonito Hub, here's how to claim it and become its owner.

Many of the organizations on Bonito Hub were added by our editorial team based on publicly available information — they exist on the platform but don't yet have a real representative running them. If that describes you, claiming is the right path. It's faster than creating a new profile, and it keeps the platform free of duplicates.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Bonito Hub account. See → Create your account

  • A completed LinkedIn verification. See → Verify your LinkedIn identity.

  • A genuine connection to the organization. By claiming, you're confirming that you're an authorized representative and that the information you submit is accurate.

The organization itself needs to be in a claimable state — already published on Bonito Hub, and not already claimed by someone else. If you find your organization listed but the claim button isn't there, the most common reason is that someone has already claimed it.

How to claim

  1. Find your organization. Use the search on the directory, or click through from anywhere you see your organization's name. You'll land on the public profile.

  2. Click "Claim this organization." If you see this button, the profile is claimable. If you don't, see "Why the button isn't there" below.

  3. Write a short message explaining your connection to the organization — your role, how long you've been involved, anything that helps a reviewer place you. There's no template; a few honest sentences are usually enough.

  4. Confirm that you're authorized to represent the organization. This is a required checkbox.

  5. Submit. Your claim is now under review.

What happens after you submit

Bonito reviews claims and aims to make a decision within 3 business days.

We may contact you by email if we need more context — for example, asking for a quick verification document, or replying from an email address on the organization's domain. This is informal; it's just how we confirm authority when public information alone isn't enough.

While your claim is pending, you'll see the organization in your My organizations dashboard with a "Pending claim" indicator.

If your claim is approved

  • You become the Owner of the organization.

  • You can immediately edit the profile, upload logos, add a gallery, set classifications, invite members, transfer ownership later if needed, and post jobs and volunteer missions.

  • We'll send you an email with a link to your new organization dashboard.

If your claim is rejected

You'll receive an email with the reason. The most common reasons are that we couldn't verify your authority to represent the organization, or that the message didn't make the connection clear. You can submit a new claim with more context — there's no permanent block.

Why the button isn't there

A few reasons the Claim this organization button doesn't appear:

  • The organization is already claimed. Someone else got to it first. Reach out to them through the organization's contact information, or contact Bonito support to discuss.

  • You haven't verified your LinkedIn identity yet. Claims require LinkedIn verification.

  • The organization isn't in a published state. It may be archived, suspended, or in a draft state we don't show publicly.

  • You already have a pending claim on this organization. Wait for the review to complete.

Important to know

  • Claiming an organization makes you its OWNER. There's only one OWNER per organization. If multiple people from the same organization want to be on Bonito Hub, the OWNER invites the rest as ADMIN or MEMBER.
